Based in the heart of Wombourne, Steve and the team at Perfect Wills & Estate Planners have looked after the estate needs of local families within the community for many years, and are committed to help the community by supporting local charitable causes. Perfect Wills & Estate Planners are excited to announce their Charity of the Year for 2021 is ‘Tough Enough to Care’, commencing with support and attendance at the first fundraising event of 2021, at the RFC in Kinswingford, Saturday 17th July, and with ongoing planned fundraising activities in the coming months.
Tough Enough to Care aim to provide help and support to anyone affected by male mental health issues. With focus on men in male dominated environments in a ‘man up’ culture, Stuart Bratt (Founder), being ex-military himself, has seen through his own eyes how men refuse to open up for fear of ridicule. With twelve men a day committing suicide in the UK and 84 UK male suicides every week, Tough Enough to Care are on a mission to remove the male stigma around mental health and to encourage men to talk openly, freely and at ease, as every life matters. Tough Enough to Care offer a range of support mechanisms, including support groups, drop-in sessions, peer to peer network sessions, mental health first aid training and much more….
Steve Owen, Director at Perfect Wills & Estate Planners explains: “The philosophy and mission of Tough Enough to Care is core and is close to our hearts having had my son take his own life last year. It was a complete shock and greatly distressed me and the family. We also lost another daughter and son due to other unforeseen circumstances and we know the heartache and trauma this brings to loved ones. Our wish is to help by giving support to Tough Enough to Care and hope in time we can significantly give hope and peace to anyone contemplating suicide and by talking and opening up and with support they are not alone and help is available to overcome these difficulties and fears. I am a committed Christian and despite my losses know that my faith has pulled me through.”
